This Privacy Policy applies to the Garantina Chrome browser extension ("Extension", "we", "our"). It describes how the Extension collects, uses, stores, and shares — or specifically, does not collect, use, store, or share — personal data about users ("you").
By installing the Extension, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
Garantina does not collect any personal data. The following categories of data are never collected, logged, or transmitted:
When you use Garantina, you create content — such as bookmarks, notes, folder names, and board cards. This content is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This data is created by you, for you, and remains on your device at all times. It is never transmitted to any server.
Garantina has no backend servers, no database, and no analytics infrastructure. There is no mechanism by which your data could reach us.
Because Garantina does not collect any data, there is no user data for us to use. All processing of your content (saving, organizing, searching, encrypting) occurs entirely within your browser on your device.
The Extension reads your locally stored data solely to display it to you within the extension interface. This processing never leaves your device.
All data you create in Garantina is stored using the Chrome chrome.storage.local API, which stores data in your browser's local profile on your device. This means:
The Vault feature provides an additional layer of protection for sensitive items. Before saving Vault data to local storage, the Extension encrypts it using AES-256-GCM encryption. The encryption key is derived from your passcode using PBKDF2 with a random salt. The passcode and derived key are never stored anywhere and are never transmitted. Only the encrypted ciphertext is saved to local storage.
Garantina does not share, sell, rent, trade, license, or otherwise disclose any user data to any third party under any circumstances, including:
Because we collect no data, there is nothing to share. This policy will not change in future versions of the Extension.
The use of information received from the Extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Garantina includes two entirely optional integrations. Neither is enabled by default. Both require explicit configuration and manual triggering by you:

Since we do not collect or store any data on our end, we have no data to retain or delete on our side.
Security is built into the design of Garantina:
Garantina is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since we collect no personal data from any user, we collect none from children either.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the Extension, please contact us using the details in Section 13.
Because all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times:
We hold no copies of your data and therefore cannot fulfil data access requests on our end — all data lives on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Extension's features or applicable law. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
